In this audio clip, Ron remembers the many uses to which the stage in the canteen was put.  He recalls Fielding’s Brass band that used to rehearse in the vaults of the old churchyard, the orchestra, and the Dramatic Society, which used to perform on the stage in the canteen.

Ron also remembers showing films in the canteen every Wednesday lunchtime from 12.30 to 1.00pm.

Unfortunately, when a new director joined the company he removed the stage from the canteen.
