The Docks Area

Here you can listen to reminiscence about the area surrounding Fielding and Platt. There were many other engineering firms, such as Gloucester Wagon Works and Moreland's Match Factory, pubs and shops, not to mention the docks themselves.

Do you remember particular shops in the area such as Carol's Cabin, Pitman's newsagents, Gilbey Coole's Hardware store, or Arthur Wally Melton's hairdressers?

Perhaps you used to live in the area when Fielding and Platt was still there, or perhaps you owned a business near the Fielding and Platt Works? If so, what was the area like?
